Yay thank you Gem. I updated the pic btw...and added more detail to the pouch and some lighting goodness.
http://roguemina.deviantart.com/art/...rker-197481749

Thistle suggested that I make a hunk series but I might draw Mina in the same battle scene somewhere (lol obviously she's no hunk. But I got one more hunk in the group since I already got Ran in a similar background 3 months before *feels silly*
http://roguemina.deviantart.com/art/...Roam-187690735

...so it's either I am trying to cover up for my limited of background ideas or there's some higher force out there that wants me to draw them fighting in the same area. Well they are supposed to be in the same team fighting a certain group at some point in the story so this kinda makes sense.

/end babble

Will be working on Nian's Art Trade next *needs to draw female characters for a change.*

Perhaps the same background is telling you that you should enter the Landscape contest with that type of background?

And great job on drawing Vale! I really like the colour hues and the action in the pose. :3 Hehe, if I won't have time to do the hunk series, then perhaps you should? You are very good at drawing manly men.

lol thanks for reminding me. I actually need to draw landscapes at some point >_<. Yes I will enter. The only problem is getting an idea/inspiration of what I want to draw. Probably after Nian's art trade.

I need to practice perspective anyhow. *used to hate that in my drafting class*

Thank you! I tried to give justice to that character because I wasn't able to draw him properly in the past. I also tried to not make him look like Ran because I drew Ran right before Vale. I would consider it a failure if he ended up looking like Ran with a different clothing/hairstyle..not to mention those two characters really hate each other lol.

I asked the owner..so what does Vale really look like (apart from his GW version -Crappy drawing from the past...and I just noticed that I did this drawing exactly around a year ago as I did the new one - http://roguemina.deviantart.com/art/...hade-155127111 ). And he was like.."I haven't really thought about it". So I was "..okay..I'll see what I can do". I've known the character for years anyway and that really helped me a lot esp with no facial references.

My indicator that I got the character right is the owner's reaction after seeing the finished drawing and my other guildmates' reply when they immediately said "It's a Vale!" when I showed them the pic lol.

lol, I could try and help but right after I thin up this pile in my to-do list?..you'll probably free yours up faster than I do >_<"

And I am glad to know that I draw manly men lol. I used to draw anime style and although I have nothing against bishounens (in fact, Ran was actually initially inspired from the traditional anime bishounen look). I've already outgrown that style I suppose.

Im seeing a lot of people saying they want to enter the landscape contest but dont have the inspiration yet. Dx

So i suggest you look through this website if you want a guild wars theme. Its a collection of every single area/zone/landscape in guild wars, and the quality is great. The author says theres 6195 screenshots (perhaps he took that many, and posted the best. sounds a little too many to me), so theres no doubt theres something you'll get inspired by ^^

(this is the same link i posted in the landscape thread. Didn't know if anyone else went and looked through it)

Thanks DBA! Yeah I checked that link when you posted it (awesome find btw).

I think I know now what I am going to do for the contest . It will be Guild Wars inspired but not particularly a GW landscape.

Vale came out great - definitely looks a lot better with the smaller hand.

I think now you should start experimenting more with different brushes for both your metal and cloth textures.

Thanks Charlie. Do you recommend certain brush settings for these?

Well I havent started the landscape yet but I started on Nian's art trade. Here's a WIP so far. Ignore the hand for now lol

Completely re-did Nian's art trade. Wasn't feeling the character in the first version.
Here's the new one:

Very pretty so far Her face reminds me of the TV char Kate Beckett, but I think that's just because I just watched 'Castle.'

Oooh, I love how you've done the face! She looks so serene, and sort of happy too. And the hair blowing around her is just beautiful... <3

More please!

lol I looked up that character and I can actually see the resemblance. Funny thing is that I don't use references for the face >_>

@Perynne- thank you!

And as you wish , here's tonight's progress:

Pretty outfit! Is this based off one of Nian's GW chars? I don't recognize the armor so was wondering if it was an OC outfit or a different game

Love the motion that's going on with her hair. What's her right arm going to be doing?

I love the way her hair is blowing about.

Can't wait to see how it develops.

@Thistle - It is one of Nian's OCs. I hope she doesn't mind posting this but this is the reference I am using:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...esa_colage.jpg

@Charlie- My pose reference actually has the arm like that...so I might crop it to her waistline later. Haven't really decided yet >_<"

@Aero - Thank you! I actually followed how the reference's hair is blowing out. So that helped me a lot ^^. I noticed that the the way I drew hair looked a bit stiff so far. so I am trying to fix that.

Reading off of Pery's thread, Hmm maybe I should just post GW drawings here lol. Am I breaking the rules too much? O_O

Rules? There are rules in Nolani?

If there are I expect we all break them all the time as we go off-topic so much, but that's what I like about the community here. I am pretty sure you can post any art you like, it doesn't have to be GW art does it?

AH, so that's who Nian's DA account is named after

Nolani wouldn't be as much fun if non-GW stuff was banned I could see it being an issue if someone ONLY posted non-GW stuff, but no one does that here

I am most certain Unlucky Slayer has confirmed this more then once:

You are allowed to post ALL your art in Nolani, wether it is directly from GuildWars, close to it, or something completely different. So just keep sharing!
